Elizabeth Estelle Turner Pittman, 80, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2006 in Ivor, VA with her family by her side. Born February 3, 1926 in Isle of Wight County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher E. Turner and Lizzie M. Gardner Turner. Estelle was a loving homemaker, mother and grandmother, and she loved to cook. She was a member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church in Ivor and a member of the Women of the Moose, Suffolk Chapter 1315. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph "Joe" E. Pittman, Sr., a sister, Celia Mae Turner, and infant daughter, Elizabeth E. Pittman.

Estelle is survived by two daughters, Teresa P. Dickerson and husband, Robert, and Betsy Pittman; one son, Joseph "Skinner" E. Pittman, Jr., four grandchildren, Steven T. Cox, Jr., Catherine Hope Pittman, Joseph E. Pittman, III, and Frank "Tater" Pittman; two sisters, Doris Joyner and Bunnie Cook; one brother, Reuben Turner; and special pet, Lil Girl. Special thanks to her caregivers, Jacklyn Faulcon, Barbara Atkins, and Catherine Peden.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield. Interment will follow in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Ivor, VA. The family will receive friends at the residence of Teresa Dickerson, 5311 Proctor's Bridge Rd., Ivor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ivor Vol. Rescue Squad, P.O.
