Esther Flexon Cousins

Esther Flexon Cousins, 94, of Kitty Hawk, NC passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, June 26, 2017. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, W.C. “Inkey” Cousins; three sisters; and five brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Cousins Short and husband William; her grandson, Scott Short; and numerous extended family and friends. Mrs. Cousins served as Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer for the City of Colonial Heights for over 30 years. Esther loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Her greatest joy however, came from spending time with her family and friends.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the funeral home with the Rev. Joshua Smith, officiating.
