Esther Tavel

Esther J. Tavel, 79, of Petersburg, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011. She was born July 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles D. Tavel. Esther was a loving wife, mother, grandmother who loved to cook and garden. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, Michael D. Tavel and wife, Pam; daughter, Jan Bennett and husband, William; grandchildren, Jennifer and Hannah Bennett, Chelsea Poole, Joe Bragg and wife, Melissa; great-granddaughter, Victoria Bragg; niece, Gracie Macejak and husband, Wayne. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 am Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at St. Josephs Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park. Our family would like to thank the staff at Greenfield Assisted Living and Crater Hospice.
