Eugene Lake Ball

June 15, 1960 — February 2, 2021

Eugene Lake Ball was a quiet man. He died peacefully in his home in Hopewell, VA, at the age of 60--most likely in the evening of February 1, 2021. It would have meant something to him to have passed on 2.1.21. He would have liked the symmetry in that number. He was a UFO enthusiast and a believer in the metaphysical. He also had accumulated an impressive collection of movies over his lifetime. He was a sweet brother and a loving, respectful child to his parents his whole life. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ball and his mother, Opal Elizabeth Ball. He is survived by his stepmother, Joan Ball, his sister, Amy Ball, and their families.
Eugene loved his country and proudly served in the US Army as a young man. He was a big Raiders fan—through Oakland, Los Angeles, and most recently Vegas. He was a loyal person. Once he started with people, or teams, or companies, he stuck by them. He worked for the same company as a security guard for 27 years. He saw that company through many changes, too. He not only had a stellar work record for length of tenure, but he was an outstandingly reliable employee. He could always be counted on to pick up shifts for his fellow workers who needed help. He was a quiet man, with a wicked sense of humor and he will be dearly missed.

He had several pets over his lifetime who were very important to him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations of time or money be paid to your local Humane Society in his honor.
All funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to your local humane society. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
