Eugenia Parker Floyd

Eugenia Parker Floyd, 85, of Chester, VA passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William R. Floyd, Sr.; sister, Kay Avery; and brother, Carlton R. Parker, Jr. She is survived by her son, William R. Floyd, Jr. (Melony); son, Barton L. Floyd; daughter, Patti Floyd Ross (Rick); daughter, Laura Floyd Deck (Dave); grandchildren, Meredith Floyd, Robert Floyd, Jennifer Floyd Hall, Sarah Floyd, Nancy Millhouse, Rebecca Floyd, David Millhouse, Amber Brown and Patrick Brown; sister, Retta Parker Powell; numerous extended family and friends. Mrs. Floyd was a dedicated and active member of Chester Presbyterian Church. She was a career Army Chaplain’s wife for over 20 years. Mrs. Floyd was an avid gardener, and devoted mother and grandmother. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Chester Presbyterian Church 3424 W. Hundred Road. Chester, VA 23831. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chester Presbyterian Church in her honor.
