Eula Gay Crabtree, 82, of DeWitt, VA, widow of Alvah Edgar Crabtree, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Born and raised in Honaker, VA, she was the daughter of the late John O. Harris and Melissa Ada Stinson Cook. She was also preceded in death by a son, Fred Crabtree; brothers, Talbott Harris, and Ross Harris, and a sister, Rita Mangus. Mrs. Crabtree was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life revolved around her family, and she enjoyed nothing more than cooking and having the family together for a meal. She was a longtime member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, David Crabtree and wife, Christine, Donald Crabtree and wife, Elizabeth, Linda Fischer, Mark Crabtree, Steven Crabtree and wife, Laura, and Wendell Crabtree and wife, Tammy; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Monk, Opal Artrip, and Laura Maxfield; brother, Mitchell Harris, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, N. Dinwiddie. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Smyrna Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Robert Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
