Eunice Zayas

Eunice "Nicy" Zayas, 53, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Eunice was born on November 8, 1970, in Brooklyn, NY, to Eddie Garcia and Elizabeth Jimenez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Zayas; grandmother, Domitila Sosa-Jimenez; and sister, Yvette Tirado.

Eunice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. While she began as a stay at home mother, she later received her CNA certificate and became a caretaker for her husband.

She will be greatly missed by her extensive family. She is survived by her three children, Desiree Rivera, Taniamarie Patterson (Mark), and Victor Joel Zayas (Jerlay); step-daughters, Jessica Zayas and Krystle Rivera (Jason); grandchildren, Emmanuel Jr., Gabriel, Beckham, Ali Jyce, Sophia, Destiny, Mason, Ariella, Arianni, and Cruz; great-granddaughter, Mahlani; mother, Elizabeth (Guillermo); father, Eddie Garcia (Annette); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Eunice Zayas will be on Monday, May 27, 2024, from 6pm until 8pm, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home, on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11am. Interment will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, at 1:30pm, after the service.
