Eva Lord Cornett, 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away on March 17, 2013. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Duane Eugene and Flossie Sandford Lord. Mrs. Cornett was also preceded in death by her husband, H. Randolph Cornett; two sisters, Grace Lord Atwater and Ann Lord Dickerson; and a brother, William Lord. She was a longtime member of Third Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, VA. and upon its closure had been attending Wesley United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights. Mrs. Cornett is survived by her daughter, Kathy Moore and husband, Tim; a granddaughter, Ann Randolph Moore; two nieces, Donna Dean and husband, Kenny of Sussex Co. and Dee Floyd and husband, Tom of Winter Haven FL.; a nephew, Don Dickerson and wife Cindi of Yale, VA.; two great nephews, Dr. Douglas D. Dean and Carl Floyd; a great niece, Julie Carnes; seven great-great nieces and nephews; and many dear friends on Prince Albert Avenue, in Colonial Heights. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Blandford Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Louis Williams and the Rev. Pat Porter, officiating.
