Evalyn Richardson Hunter, 92, of Chester, VA and formerly of Surry, VA passed away on July 6, 2015. Born in Prince George, VA she was the daughter of the late William Benjamin and Olivia Woodcock Richardson; and was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of 68 years, Charles Hunter; one daughter, Cheryl Johns; and one son-in-law, Alan Pruett. Mrs. Hunter retired as the clerk of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations and General District Court in Surry, VA, after many years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter #114 in Claremont, VA. Mrs. Hunter is survived by her loving daughter, Robin Pruett; one granddaughter, Shawna Mease and husband, Adam; a grandson, Jason Pruett; and three great-grandchildren, Addison, Benjamin and Henley Mease. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at 11:30 a.m. in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
