Evelyn Bortz

Evelyn Belch Bortz, 98 of Petersburg died Monday, October 11, 2004. She was the widow of Carl Martin Bortz. She is the daughter of the late Clarence Augustus and Lula Staples Belch. She was a retired owner of T.S. Beckwith & Co. She was a charter member of the Quota Club and chairman of the Alter Guild of Christ and Grace Episcopal Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Allan W. Baldwin of Colonial Heights and step-grandson, William H. Traylor of Charlottesville. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, October 14, 2004 at City Point National Cemetery, Hopewell, with the Rev. David Teschner officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm tonight in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Boy’s Home, 306 Boy’s Home Road, Covington, VA 24426.
