Evelyn Chaffin Burch

Evelyn Delores Chaffin Burch, 90, of Chester, peacefully passed into eternal life, Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Born in Richmond, VA., May 22, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William Chaffin, Sr. and Virginia Chaffin Schacht. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Grayson Burch, Sr.; her son, Grayson Burch, Jr.; her sister, Ann Roberson; and her brother, William Chaffin, Jr. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She was a truly kind person who will always be remembered for her sweet nature. Evelyn loved her Lord and Savior, family, friends, her many animal companions, and her beautiful flowers. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sally Johnson (Sonny), John Burch II, Stanley Burch (Terri), Mark Burch (Ana), Charles Burch (Linda), Judith Geddy (Bruce), and Nancy Brassington, her daughter-in-law, Belinda Burch; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Turner; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The Burch family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their care, respect, and compassion given to Evelyn and the entire family during this journey. They would also like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Lucy Corr Village Assisted Living and the Dale Unit of the Health Care Center, who provided our mother with many years of kindness and excellent care during her stay at their facility. The family will receive friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home of Chester, VA. A service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Chester United Methodist Church, 12132 Percival Street, Chester, VA 23831. Interment will follow, 4:00 p.m. in Dale Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome, or you may make memorial contributions in Evelyn’s memory to Chester United Methodist Church.
