Evelyn H. Jones

Evelyn Hanzlik Jones, 82, of Hopewell, passed away on Saturday December 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents Wesley Henry and Emily Glazier Hanzlik and her loving husband James A. Jones , Sr. Evelyn loved bowling, reading, and tending her flower garden. She was employed as a secretary at Stone Container in Hopewell retiring after 40 dedicated years of service, was a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, formerly Professional Secretary International. She was also a lifetime member of Church of the Sacred Heart in New Bohemia. Evelyn is survived by, step-sons; James A. Jones, Jr. of Chester, George R. Jones and wife Sandra of Hopewell, son: Donald W. Jones and wife Carol of New Kent County, daughter: Kathryn J. Lilly and husband Melvin of Hopewell, Yvonne J. Williams, Janet A. Hughes and husband Roger all of Prince George, grandchildren: James A. Jones III and wife Sharon of Chester, Christine Coker and husband, Michael of Hopewell, Laura Blankenship and husband Eric of Colonial Heights, Jessica Howlett and husband Todd of Prince George, Melissa Differ and husband Jarrad, Rachel Hughes all of Prince George, Crystal Luellen and husband Andy of Mechanicsville, great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Jones, Brandon Childers, Landon and Bryson Howlett, Nichole and Cameron Blankenship, Michael “Dale” and Logan E. Coker, Brianna and Trinity Luellen, brother: Joseph W. Hanzlik of Waverly, numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Christian Wake Wednesday December 26 7:00 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, a Mass of the Resurrection will be on Thursday 10:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart conducted by celebrant Father Jay Wagner, and interment will be in the church cemetery following the mass.
