Evelyn Marks

Evelyn Bennett Marks, 81, of Petersburg, widow of James W. Marks, Sr., passed away Monday, July 12, 2010. Born in Ettrick, VA, she was the daughter of the late Emmett S. and Helen Cousins Bennett. She was a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company, a long-time active member of the former Walnut Hill Baptist Church, and recently became a member of Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Marks was the youngest of ten children, all of whom preceded her in death. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, James W. â??Jayâ? Marks, Jr. and his fiancé, Carol Koogler of Chester; daughter, Tammie M. Frazier and her husband, Keith of Prince George; grandchildren, Krystal Marks, Tracey Irvin and husband, David, Jason Marks, Danny Michalek and wife, Devon, and Grayson Marks; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Gavin, Zoey, Karmen, Carson, Joshua, Brenden, Gracie, and Ciara. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with The Reverend Dr. Bruce Queen officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
