Evelyn Whitt Martin

Evelyn Whitt Martin, 81, of Chester, VA passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Virginia Whitt; her loving husband, Randel H. Martin; and a daughter, Barbara Ann Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah M. Babukovic and husband Nick, Vickie M. Jones; stepdaughter, Mary Mathis; grandchildren, Jason and Brian Babukovic and Missy Cook; great-grandchildren, Hunter Babukovic, Josiah Gulledge, Elisha Gulledge, Preston Fahr, Amber Cook and Katilynn Cook; a sister, Velva Lee Branscome; nephew, Forrest Martin who moved in with Evelyn to care for her; numerous extended family and friends. She was a member of the Word of God Fellowship 426 Courthouse Rd. N. Chesterfield, VA 23236. Evelyn was deeply devoted to working for and with her church throughout the years. The family would like to extend a Special Thank You to the workers at Tyler’s Retreat, Health South in Petersburg, her nephew, Forrest Martin; Shawanda “Cookie” Collins, Ashlynn Collier, Sandy Robertson, Kristina Tomlin, Sue Hicks, and all the hospice nurses. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831.
