Evelyn Mccann Poole

Evelyn McCann “Lynn” Poole passed away on November 19, 2016, in Petersburg at the age of 94. Lynn was born in Prince George County, VA, but lived most of her life in Petersburg. Lynn was predeceased by her parents, James Henry and Willie Harrison Marks McCann, her husband, Albert Prince Poole and her three brothers and their wives, Henry and Libby McCann, Harrison and Lucy McCann and Buck and Gwen McCann. She is survived by her son, Bert Poole and his wife Janice of Virginia Beach, VA, her grandsons: Harrison Poole and his wife Megan of Virginia Beach, Andrew Poole and his wife Christina of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Scott Poole of Virginia Beach. She has two great grandsons, Alex and Jacob Poole of Myrtle Beach, SC. She was also known as Aunt Lynn and very close to her nieces, Pat McCann, Cheryle McCann, Susan Butler and Beth McCann as well as her nephew, Merle McCann. Lynn Poole worked for Stratton Supply Company in Petersburg as its treasurer and later vice president for 40 years and worked an additional 20 years for Ferguson Enterprises. She was a member of Christ and Grace Episcopal Church where she was the first female member of the Vestry and its first female Senior Warden. She was a also a member of a number of other organizations including the Petersburg Quota Club, the Petersburg Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors and the Petersburg High School Booster Club. The family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 23 at Christ and Grace Episcopal Church in Petersburg. Burial will be at a later time.
