Evelyn Walker

Evelyn M. Walker, 87 of Richmond, VA, formerly of Hopewell, VA died Friday, July 10, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Mercer County, West Virginia. Mrs. Walker was a long time active member of Clover Hill Baptist Church and retired from the medical field as a nurse. She was the daughter of the late Charles Roscoe and Locie Ida Cole Miller and the widow of Frank A. Walker. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Jean Walker of Richmond, VA, a son Steve Walker of Roanoke, VA, a granddaughter, Kayla Renee Long and her husband Kevin, a great granddaughter, Isabella Rae Long all of Allentown, PA, a sister, Lola Miller Lane of Hopewell, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Abe Simon of Clover Hill Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George County, VA.
