Everett Millard Cleaton, Jr., 74, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022. Born in Richmond, he was the son of the late Everett Millard Cleaton, Sr. and Elizabeth Baicy Cleaton.
Everett was a proud veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was employed with VDOT as a Maintenance Manager, retiring after more than 40 years. He enjoyed sports, especially racing, but most of all he loved farming which was his lifelong passion.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marjorie Glover Cleaton; daughter, Donna Cleaton Smith; beloved granddaughters, Kathryn Elizabeth Smith and Miriana Limao Smith; and dear friends, Charlie Yates, Henry Easley, Richard Beville, Gordon Winfield, and Jim Aultman.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery, 20600 Boydton Plank Rd., McKenney, VA 23872.
