Faye B. Shultz, 82, of Stony Creek, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2023. Faye was born April 1, 1941, in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from Stony Creek High School. She was a lifelong member of Fort Grove United Methodist Church in Stony Creek, where she was the pianist up until her death. Faye worked for many years at Stony Creek Fertilizer Company and Barnes Peanut Company. Later in life, she went on to pursue a career in nursing. She worked at John Randolph Medical Center, Greensville Correctional Center, and Sussex County Jail. She was employed at Stony Creek Community Health Center where she worked for 30 years until her retirement in 2022.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents W. Armstead and Virginia T. Barnes. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Drewery (Wayne); her son, Winston (LuAnn); grandson, Ryan Drewery (Morgan); granddaughter, Jocelyn Shultz; and one great-grandson, Evan Drewery. She is also survived by her brother, William A. Barnes, Jr.; nephew, Donald Newbold (Carey); great-niece, Liza Newbold; and great-nephew, Riley Newbold.
In her spare time, she loved cooking, crocheting, and reading. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, riding her golf-cart around the block, sitting outside admiring her flowers, and watching hummingbirds. She also adored the family dog, Louie, and loved giving him treats. She always looked forward to the weekends when she could go to town, go shopping, and go out to lunch.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Petersburg Chapel. Burial will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd., S. Prince George 23805.
