Flora Estelle Archer

Flora Estelle Archer, 92, of Disputanta, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. Born in Henderson, NC she was the daughter of the late Marvin S. Simmons and Minnie Grammer Simmons. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Aldwin Archer, Sr; son, John A. Archer, Jr.; granddaughter, Katherine Estelle Archer; son-in-law, Franklin Wade Fischer. Flora was a member of the former Elm Street Baptist Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy A. Fischer; grandsons, William Randolph Fischer (Sarah) and Matthew Archer Fischer (Brittney); great-grandchildren, Michael James Fischer and Ava Catherine Fischer; daughter-in-law, Lelia S “Kirkie” Archer; special nieces, Virginia Archer Goodrich and Caroline Laudien; and special friends, Charles and Judy Andrews. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thankyou to the staff of the Petersburg Home of Ladies for their compassion and care. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be private.
