Florence Conwell Atkins

Florence Conwell Atkins, 96, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Morton Lee Conwell and Edna Williamson Conwell. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randolph G. Atkins; brother, M.L. Conwell; and sisters, Edith Carraway and Agnes Holloway.
She is survived by her sons, Randolph Atkins, Jr. (Jun Xu) of Germantown, MD, and Steven Atkins of San Diego, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Florence Atkins was employed with T.S. Beckwith and Company as bookkeeper, retiring after many years. She went on to work for the City of Petersburg as a tour guide. Florence was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Petersburg, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was involved with various garden clubs throughout the area and achieved many blue ribbon awards for her arrangements. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 24, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
