Florence Johnson

Mrs. Florence D. Johnson, 85, of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 due to a recent illness. Florence was a member of Adah Chapter # 7, Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church and was employed at Garfinkels Clothing Store in Cavalier Square almost 25 years. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz Ebert Johnson, two brothers, Willard Peden and Frank Davis, three sisters, Annie Griffith, Della Jenkins, and Helen Stall, and her parents, Jack and Estelle Davis. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda J. Atkins and husband, Milton and Linda J. Cox and husband, Larry, four grandchildren, Maurice Lynn Atkins, Constance Wilcoxson (Curtis), Shannon Lackey (John) and Allen Cox (Jerri), six great grandchildren, Dustin Cox, Amber Fisher, Joshua Oâ??Neill, Will Wilcoxson, Tyler Wilcoxson, McKinsey Coren, one great great grandchild, Jayden Rhodes, a brother, Floyd Davis (Lois), and sister-in-law, Armeta King Davis, numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
