Florence Stainback Scott, 74, of Colonial Heights, departed this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Florence Stainback; her husband, Dale Scott; and her siblings, Willie Mae Poarch, Ruby Price, Annie Poole, Grace Grizzard, Gladys Walker, Willie Stainback, Jr., Emily André, James Stainback, Richard Stainback, Russell Stainback, and Carroll Stainback.
Florence is survived by her sons, Tucker Scott (Heather) and Taylor Scott (Lauren); grandchildren, Emma Scott, Hayden Scott, Sheppard Scott, Lincoln Scott, Coston Pritchett, and Hadley Scott; siblings, Goldie Cox, Francis Stainback (Minerva), Albert Stainback (Phyllis), Rufus Stainback, and Marie Schnitz (Michael); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Crater Community Hospice for all the care and attention to make Florence as comfortable as possible.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at 1:00 PM at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home - Petersburg, 103 S. Adams Street, Petersburg. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Prevent A Litter Veterinary Hospital, 3421 W Cary St, Richmond, VA 23221. Online condolences may be conveyed to the family at www.jtmorriss.com .
