Floyd Earl Lent, (JR), 68, of Prince George, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016. Born in Creston, Iowa, he was the son of the late Floyd E. Lent, Sr. and Margaret Brazell Lent. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Fowler. RET SFC Floyd Earl Lent, Jr. was a proud Veteran retiring after 22 years of service in the United States Army. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and member of the “Steel City Connection”. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Lent; his daughter, Mary Beth Primmer and her husband, Richard; his son, Sean Lent; grandchildren: Amanda, Kathy, Guy, Hayden, Angelica, Shelby, and Morgan; 3 nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Fort Lee Memorial Chapel, 1901 Sisisky Blvd, Fort Lee, VA 23801. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia, VA 23002. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Bon Secours Community Hospice House or to the Children’s Hospital of Richmond. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
