Forrest Jackson Simpkins, 80, of Dinwiddie, passed away on March 7, 2012. Mr. Simpkins was the son of the late Zack and Zadie Simpkins, and was also preceded in death by his son, Glenn Simpkins. Mr. Simpkins retired from the United States Army having served in the Vietnam Conflict, and later in life retired from Fort Lee Civil Service. He was a member of the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge #1993 and also the Eagles Aires # 882. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara L. Simpkins; a son, Thomas Michael Simpkins and wife, Donna of Bossier City, La; one daughter, Susan Carol Simpkins of Quinton, Va; four grandsons, Richard and Christopher Puryer, Curtis Simpkins, and Ryan Simpkins and wife, Khara; three great-grandsons, Peyton and Brayden Puryer, and Symon Simpkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Va. with the Rev. David Prather, officiating. Condolences may be registered at
