Frances Beckner

Frances Mildred Beckner, 77, of Chester, formerly of Hopewell, Virginia, went to be with her Lord Monday, January 17, 2011. She was born in Roanoke County, Virginia. Mrs. Beckner was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer White and Ollie Mills Muse and her husband, Eldridge R. Beckner. She is survived by 4 children: Judy B. Church & husband, Tom of Henderson, NC, Barry A. Beckner of Prince George, VA, Wayne L. Beckner of Richmond, VA and Bruce L. Beckner & wife, Terri, of Chester, Va.; grandchildren Michael and Kimberly Church, Lindsay, Hannah and Colby Beckner, Blake Ridge Beckner; step grandchildren Jessica Easton and Melissa Shelburne; one great- grandson Beckner E. Church and 6 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Reba Burris & husband, Jack D. of Roanoke and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2011, in the Hopewell chapel at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Doug Echols officiating. Interment will follow in Merchant Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to the Youth Ministry, Enon Baptist Church, 13607 N.
