Frances Cairns

Frances Pauline â??Pollyâ? Cairns, 93, of Dinwiddie passed away on Wednesday June 27, 2012. Mrs. Cairns is the daughter of the late Harvey and Gracie Bishop Maitland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Thomas Cairns; 2 grandchildren, Tina Robertson and Brenda Johnson; sister, Florence Clarke of Dinwiddie; and 4 brothers, Ernest, Eugene, Charles, and Samuel Maitland. Mrs. Cairns was a proud member of Ebenezer Community Church in Warfield, VA. She is survived by 7 children, Thomas O. Cairns (Linda) of Dinwiddie, Hazel Robertson (John) of Blackstone, Frances Gupton of Norfolk, Nita Weeks of Chesterfield, John A. Cairns (Doris) of Dinwiddie, Doris Murphy (George) of Lynchburg, and Leonard Cairns (Blanche) of Dewitt; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, George Maitland (Anita) of Macon, GA; sister, Bert McCann of Petersburg. The family will receive friends on Friday June 29, 2012 from 6- 8 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
