Frances Murphy Chapman

Frances Murphy Chapman, 96, of Petersburg VA, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Chapman; as well as her son, John Lee Chapman. She is survived by her children, Richard E. Chapman, and wife Sharon, and Cynthia P. Harver; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chapman was a faithful member of 2nd Baptist Church, in Petersburg, VA and retired from Fort Lee as a telephone operator after many years of service. The family of Mrs. Chapman would like to thank the staff and nurses of Petersburg Home for Ladies for their love and care shown towards her. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Blandford Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Brinkley, officiating. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.Morriss & Son. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Petersburg Home for Ladies Fellowship Fund, 311 S.
