Frances Elizabeth Wade Council, 87, a lifelong resident of Ivor died on Friday, June 10, 2011. She retired from Southampton County Public Schools after 30 years of service and was a member of Ivor Baptist Church. Mrs. Council was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Sarah Luter Wade and her husband of 63 years, Wayland Hart Council.
Mrs. Council is survived by her son, Wayland Hart Council, Jr. and his wife, Suzie; her grandsons, Brandon Hart Council and Ryan Joseph Council; and her sister, Ruby Vaughan.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 13 , 2011 at the Ivor Baptist Church with Rev. Chad McGinnis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ivor Baptist Church, 8506 Bell Ave., Ivor, VA 23866.
