Frances Allen Davis

DAVIS, Frances Eloise Allen, age 94, of Church Road, VA, passed away at her home Saturday, December 19, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Eloise was born in Miami, FL, and grew up in Meherrin, VA, where she graduated from Green Bay High School. In her late teens, she moved to Church Road, VA, where she spent the remainder of her long life. She was employed as a secretary before and during World War II. Following the war, Eloise became a full-time homemaker. Her hobbies included flower gardening and sewing. She made countless outfits for daughters and granddaughters, including wedding gowns and prom dresses. Her talent as a superb cook was widely known and appreciated. Anyone present at mealtime--whether family, friend or stranger--was treated to an unforgettable feast. But above all, "Grandma's" greatest passion was caring for her grandchildren. She was a life-long, devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Church Road, VA, where she served in many capacities.
She is survived by her four sons and three daughters, Sarah Robertson (Jim), Grey Davis (Barbara), Wayne Davis (Augusta), and Timmy Davis (Carole), all of Church Road; Conry Davis (Paula) of Irmo, SC; Ida Price (Rich) of Chesterfield, VA; and Frances Atkinson (Mike) of Dinwiddie, VA; three sisters, Margaret Spivey of Norman, OK; Jane Davis of Ford, VA; and June Folke of Richmond, VA; one brother, Mike Allen (Sandy) of Ford, VA; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Garland Davis; her parents, Conry Willis Allen and Sarah Mae Rash; and one sister, Connie Mae Angel.
A private graveside service for family will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Trinity United Methodist Church, 4814 Courthouse Road, Church Road, VA 23833, earmarked for the Christmas Fund.
