Frances Faris

Frances Bell Faris, age 90, of Hopewell, VA, died on Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was born in Hopewell, VA, the daughter of the late Oscar W. and Helen Jones Bell. Mrs. Faris was a retired Deputy with the Commissioner of Revenue, Hopewell with 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton L. Faris, Jr.; daughters, Jean F. Winne and Patsy F. Tinsley; and sister, Helen Sharp. Mrs. Faris was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Hopewell. She is survived by; seven grandchildren, Betsy Resnick and husband, Lee, Susan Towns and husband, Bill, Mary Tinsley, Michael Elrod, Clifton Elrod, Patti Varner, and Bobby Winne and wife, Pam; and seven great grandchildren, Connor, Kylie, Reilly, Avery, Brooke, Zachary, and Elizabeth. A Christian wake ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 7 p.m. followed by a visitation afterwards in the St. James Catholic Church, Hopewell. Funeral services will follow in the church on Friday, July 29, at 11 a.m. with interment afterwards in the Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell.
