Frances McCraw Jones, 90, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2011. She was born on April 1, 1921. Mrs. Jones was retired from Allied Chemical Corporation after working for thirty years. She was also a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church, Class of 1938 Breakfast Group, and the 1939-40 Luncheon Group. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Francis and Alma Shelton McCraw; her husband, Paul E. Jones Jr.; and a son, Mikell Lawrence Jones. Mrs. Jones is survived by her sons, Paul E. Jones III and his wife Joyce of Plant City, Florida, and F. Randolph Jones of Eden, North Carolina; grandchildren, Paul E. Jones IV and his wife Darlene of Stony Creek, Virginia, Carol Ann Belleau and her husband Joe of New Bern, North Carolina, Susan J. Nieves and her husband Ken of Plant City, Florida, William F. Jones and his wife Nancy of Lakeland, Florida, Kimberly J. Fry and her husband Marc of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Steven R. Jones of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Kelly J. Walck and her husband Jeff of Virginia Beach, Virginia; great grandchildren, Melodye R. Connock and her husband Shawn (USN) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nathan J. Ramirez (USA) and wife Ashley of Prince George, Virginia, David C. Ramirez (USN) of APO Diego Garcia, J. Trevor Jones of Stony Creek, Virginia, Christian Pait, Cameron Pait, and Kennon Pait all of Lakeland, Florida, Jada Nieves of Plant City, Florida, Leah Fry, Jordan Walck, Conner Walck all of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Andrew Jones, Sophia Jones, Gregory Jones all of Lakeland, Florida; great great grandchildren, James Bryar Connock, Zander Lee Connock both of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Tristan Aydan Ramirez of Prince George, Virginia; a sister, (Ret.) Col. Doris M. Cobb of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, William F. McCraw Jr. and his wife Clara of Northport, Alabama; and multiple nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Hopewell chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, Virginia.
