Frances Leonard

Frances Lewis Leonard, 87, of Chesterfield, formerly of Greensville County, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillian Mae Anderton Lewis; father, Thomas Edward Lewis; husband of 52 years, James Cobert Leonard, Jr.; son-in-law, Douglas W. Marable; sisters, Virginia L. Buckner Wrenn, Mabel L. Gilliam, Dorothy L. Taylor, and Phyllis L. Beasley; and sisters-in-law, Nancy C. Vaughan and Emily Ruth Leonard. Frances completed high school in Greensville County before entering the work force. She retired from DGSC, now Defense Supply Center Richmond. Frances was also a member of NARFE Midlothian Chapter 2265. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. The family would like to give special thanks to Brandermill Woods Health Care Community for the excellent care and love that they provided. Frances is survived by her daughter, Rebecca L. Marable, of Chesterfield County; son, James C. Leonard III, of Chester; grandson, Adam Marable (Kendal), of Henrico County; sister, Nancy L. Castello, of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
