Frances Lorine Owens

Frances Owens passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 31, 2023. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, James A. Owens; and her son, Joseph A. Owens. She was the last of her 12 siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, David Owens (Phyllis) and Steven Owens; daughter, Deanna Owens; granddaughter, Ashlee Messer (Justin Parsley); and great-grandson, Rowdy Lee Messer. Frances also leaves many nieces and nephews that were her pride and joy.

Frances was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, on December 8, 1937. She moved away, met Jim and married. She raised her kids, but her joy was Mom, Momma, or Granny to so many. She had a large extended family that loved her dearly. Mom was always grateful and appreciative of all the love she got. She loved and gave a warm smile.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m., at the chapel. Interment will follow at, Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, 5930 Centralia Road, Richmond, VA 23237.
