Frances Jean Stevenson

Frances Stevenson, age 84, passed away on July 14, 2022.

Frances was born in Virginia on January 30, 1938; her mother was Emily Nelson Duck.

She was preceded in death by James and Ruth Patterson, her parents; sister, Charlotte D. Walkup; daughter, Darlene Walker; and husband, Lewis H. Stevenson. She is survived by her children, Debra Bottoms (Terry), Donna Sodano, Richard Avery (Kimmie), and Mike Avery; grandchildren, Gavin Avery, Alyssa Avery, Whitney Baxley, Billy Lawson and Wade Lawson; great-grandchildren, London, Maxton and Bristol Avery and Alexandra and Emily Lawson; and sisters, Patsy Humphrey and Linda Deal.

Jean was a lifetime member of the VFW 637 and a member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge 1472. Her favorite pastime was shopping. She loved being around the grandchildren.

The family will receive friends between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery 703 N 21st Street, Hopewell, VA, 23860.
