Frances Tilghman

Frances Langston Tilghman, age 79, of Chester, VA, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 05, 2008. She was born in Kinston, NC, the daughter of the late William P. Langston and Eunice Mercer Langston Hill. Frances was a retired auditor with the Virginia Department of Taxation and a past member of Cosby Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Luther E. Tilghman; three children, Donna T. Angone and husband, Rocky, Angela T. Downey and husband, John, both of Chester, and Larry E. Tilghman and wife, Patricia of Chesterfield; eight grandchildren, Gina Fox, Christopher Beacham, Kevin Angone, James Downey, Gina Proffit, David Downey, Kayla Tilghman, and Brandon Tilghman; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Jarman of Kinston, NC; and a brother-in-law, Billy F. Tilghman of Chesterfield, whom she raised as her own. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Monday, October 6, 2008, from 6 to 8p.m. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield.
