Francis Morris

Francis Elmo Morris, 90, of Chester formerly of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012. Mr. Morris was retired from the Utilities Division at Fort Lee, VA after thirty-seven years as an Air Conditioning Mechanic Foreman. He was a longtime member at First Baptist Church, where he served on different committees for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Gardner Morris; his parents, A.P. and Martha Morris; his brother, Floyd P. Morris; and a sister, Mildred M. Falls. Mr. Morris is survived by his daughter, Janeen Morris Paszkiewicz and her husband Brian and their children, Bethany Gates Paszkiewicz, and Leah D. Nicely and her husband Nathan and their child Judah Elias Nicely. He is also survived by a daughter, Patricia Morris Plante and her children, Tracy Armstrong and Teresa Johnson; and his son, Francis E. Morris Jr.; and other family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Raymond and Rev. Mike Osborne officiating.
