Francis Taylor

Francis Owen Taylor, 84 of Goochland, VA, formerly of Hopewell, VA died Monday, February 15, 2010. He was born in Hopewell where he made his home until retiring to Goochland. Mr. Taylor was the son of the late Wendall and Inez Taylor and the widower of Lillian R. Taylor. He was a retired minister having served as the associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA. Mr. Taylor is survived by a son, Ronald E. Taylor and his wife Ann of Maidens, VA, three grandchildren, Leslie D. Wells and her husband D.L. of Mechanicsville, VA, Sharon R. Marker of Tonawanda, NY, Michael J. Biener of Michigan, four great grandchildren, Justin and Tristan Holtzlander, Cassidy Rae Wells and Courtney Marker, one brother, Gene R. Taylor and his wife Susan of Dinwiddie, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1:00 PM in Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, VA with the Rev. Mark Houser, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2730 Ellsmere Avenue, Norfolk, VA., 23513.
