Frank Ashton Slaughter, 73, of Prince George died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 in Southside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Petersburg and was the son of the late Preston Slaughter and Ellen Virginia Jones. Mr. Slaughter was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Hopewell Moose and Family Lodge and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Virgie G. Slaughter; two sons, Michael Wayne Slaughter and Ronald Ashton Slaughter and his wife, Tricia; four grandchildren, Morgan N. Slaughter, Camden B. Slaughter, Lauren Taylor Slaughter and Travis Ashton Slaughter; brother, Leroy Mason Slaughter; sister, Evelyn Tucker; three half brothers, William H. Jones, Jr., Eugene Jones and Allen Jones; and two half sisters, Jeanette Aldridge and Helen Matthews. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
