Frank Sr. Davis

Frank D. Davis, Sr., age, 75, of Winter Park, Florida, died August 31, 2006 in Winter Park. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Armeta, and children, Victoria Willoughby of Orlando, Fl., Frank, Jr. (Stefani) of Oviedo, Fl., and Jennifer Frantz (Bill) of Oviedo, Fl. He is predeceased by his son, Kevin. Frank was also blessed with two grandchildren, Morgan Rose Davis and Tiffany Frantz. He was the son of Jack and Estelle Davis, both deceased. His siblings, Floyd Davis, Florence Johnson, and Anne Griffith all reside in Hopewell, VA. with many other relatives and friends. Frank was born January 27, 1931 in Hopewell, VA. He graduated from Hopewell High School, joined the Air Force, and served during the Korean War. He and Armeta were married the same week of his military discharge and they moved to Pittsburgh, PA. to attend school. He graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics and was hired by Eastern Airlines in Miami, retiring after 31 years of service in 1987. After retirement, Frank and Armeta moved to Winter Park. He was a member of the Winter Park Presbyterian Church. His family was always first in his life, but he loved attending church regularly, all sporting events, league bowling and yard work until his declining health in recent years. Pain was constantly with him in his last years but family and friends always saw courage and a smile on his face. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Steven King officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia, with military honors.
