Frank Meredith Stewart

LTC (Ret.) Frank Meredith Stewart, 79, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014. Born in Waco, TX, he was the son of the late Frank Everett and Natlie Stewart; and was also preceded in death by sister, Sarah Stewart; and his beloved wife, Mary Jane Stewart. Frank Stewart retired from Fort Lee in 1979 as a LTC in the U.S. Army after 23 years of service. Following his retirement he dedicated his life to his family. He is survived by his daughter, Carla Stewart; two sons, Mark Stewart and his wife, Ruth, and Dale Stewart; granddaughter, Tori Stewart; and grandpuppy, Patches. A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, with the Rev. Terri Mason, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thomas Palliative Care Unit, Massey Cancer Center, 1300 E. Marshall St. P.O. Box 985934, Richmond, VA 23298 or a charity of your choice.
