Franklin Eugene (Gene) Clarke

Franklin Eugene Clarke, 91, of Dinwiddie, passed away on August 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Butch Clarke; grandson, Matthew Shawn Parrish; 2 sisters; and 1 brother. Franklin was a member of Living Stone Church in Dinwiddie, as well as a former member of the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge. He worked for BP Short for 43 years and Crowder Construction for 15 years. He could tell you the name of every road he ever built. He loved working in the yard and in his flower bed. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Jean Clarke; daughter, Hope Ann Hall; stepdaughter, Myra Johnson (Melony); stepsons, David Fowler (Tabby) and Danny Humphries; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and brother, Dudley Clarke. A memorial service will be held at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home Dinwiddie Chapel, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
