Franklin Delanor Saunders

Franklin D. “Sonny”/”Sleepy” Saunders, 77, of Chester, VA went to be with the Lord in heaven on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Saunders; parents, Woodrow and Mabel Saunders; and a sister, Jean Drumheller. Mr. Saunders is survived by his daughter, Cynthia “Cindy) Lawson (Greg); sisters, Barbara Booze (Norman) and Mildred Burnette; two grandsons, Dustin and Brandon Lawson; friend, Irene Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. He was a former member of Richmond Local # 10 Steam and Pipe Fitters Union, and was an avid rabbit hunter. The family would like the thank James River Hospice for their love and care shown to Mr. Saunders. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
