Franklin Edward Wilkinson

Franklin Edward Wilkinson, 93, of Chester, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Mr. Wilkinson was a member of Chester Baptist Church, Chester Volunteer Fire Department, and a Past Master of the Chester Lodge. He was also a co-founder of DuPont Fibers Federal Credit Union. Mr. Wilkinson was a retired Inventory Specialist from DuPont. He was born in Prince George to the late Thurston and Ruth Harville Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson is preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Wilkinson. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Wilkinson, and Beverly Chalkley; grandchildren, Wendy Handal and her husband, Ralph, and Heather LaJoie and her husband, Jamie; great-grandchildren, Hannah LaJoie, Zachary LaJoie, Kai Handal, and Myles Handal; sisters-in-law, Edith Harlow, and Frances Williamson and her husband, Bobby; brother-in-law, Waverly “Sonny” Carr and his wife, Jackie; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
