Garland Travis â??Rodâ? Almarode, Sr., 67 of Hopewell died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Hopewell and had been a life long resident. Mr. Almarode was a retired pipefitter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oma F. and Susie Walker Almarode and a son, Terry Wade Almarode. Mr. Almarode is survived by his wife, Cornelia Smith Almarode of Hopewell, two daughters, Tamera Lyn Higgins of Chesterfield, Melissa Anne Tipton of Hopewell, two sons, Garland Travis Almarode, Jr. of Hopewell, Timothy Wayne Almarode of Deep Run, NC, four grandchildren, Dylan, Joey, Jason, and Janie, two brothers, Oma Earl Almarode of Hopewell, Larry Julius Almarode of Prince George, two sisters, Patricia Ann Mitchem and Doris McGee, both of Hopewell. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
