Garland Stanley â??Skeeterâ? Walker, 70, of Dinwiddie Co., formerly of Matoaca passed away peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 10, 2011. He was the son of the late Clarence McKeever and Mary Ruth Moore Walker. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by a son, Garland Stanley Walker Jr.; a sister, Mary Ellen Eanes; and a brother, Maxwell Lafayette. Mr. Walker was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Skeeter was a Christian mans man who was a dedicated husband of fifty three years, and a father to three children. He had an incredible work ethic, coupled with great skills in successfully owning and operating his own plumbing company for over 40 years. His passion was as an avid outdoorsman, who loved his hounds, to hunt, and to fish. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Skeeter is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ola Mae Walker; daughter, Tina Walker Brocksmith and husband, John; a son, Virgil Lee Walker and wife, Julee; five grandchildren, Jordan and John Alan Brocksmith, and Victoria, Nicholas, and Mitchell Walker; four brothers Raymond Herold, Clarence Edward, James Moore and Douglass Lawrence Walker; four sisters, Bessie May Pitts, Anne Loise Perkinson, Nancy Ruth Stolen, and Brenda Ann Wilson; as well as many dedicated nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday June 14, 2011 in the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Pastor Raleigh Nunnally, officiating. Interment to follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 23814 River Rd., Petersburg, VA. 23803.
