Gary Lee Bowman Sr.

Gary Lee Bowman, Sr., 60, of Chester, VA passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Bowman; sister, Mabel Cummings; brother, Ted D. Bowman, Jr. He is survived by his son, Gary L. Bowman, Jr. and wife, Holli; mother, Julia Bowman; brothers, Walter Bowman (Desiree DeAnn) and Danny Bowman (Ruthie); sister, Lisa Minnick (Karl Dorsel); granddaughter, Tori Bowman; special friends, Andrew Lewis and Leon Sykes; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Gary was a veteran who served in the United States Army. Gary was employed by Phillip Morris and retired with over 30 years of faithful service. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and traveling to Las Vegas for gaming. Gary loved spending time with his family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA 23831. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia 10300 Pridesville Road Amelia, VA 23002. Interment will follow in the cemetery.
