Gary Nimmo

Gary Orville Nimmo, 59, of Matoaca, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his residence. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of Curtis O. Nimmo and the late Hattie Virginia Murdock Nimmo. Mr. Nimmo was a U. S. Navy veteran, a former employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company, and retired employee of Honeywell with 23 years of service. He was currently serving as President of Teamsters Local 101. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed fishing on the beach. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Alice M. Nimmo; son, Gary Wayne Nimmo and wife, Jennifer of Colonial Heights; daughter, Malinda N. Smith of Colonial Heights; grandson, Justin D. Carroll of Greenville, NC; sisters, Charlette Ridout and husband, Ronald of Chester and Brenda Jarratt of Ettrick; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 24th, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with Rev. Guy Murdock officiating.
