Gene Carleton Layne, Jr.

Gene Carleton Layne, Jr., born May 29, 1960 to Gene and Judy Layne, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 surrounded by his loving family and fur friends. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Judy Layne. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Stacy; children, Candie, Amanda (Dustin), Brandon (Ashley), Joshua (Christina) and Reagan; 5 grandchildren, Evan, Kellan, Addilyn, Carter and Winnie; fur friends, Apollo, Jack, Tucker, and Gus. Gene never met a stranger and was loved by many devoted friends. Gene will be truly missed by many. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S. Crater Rd.
