Gene Raymond Shannon Sr., 78, of North Prince George, VA., passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016.He is survived by his loving wife, Callie Shannon; daughter, Joy Florence and her husband, Rick; Sons, Gene Shannon Jr., and his wife, Dana and Mike Shannon and his wife, Sheila; granddaughters, Jessica and Gracie and numerous extended family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and also a charter member and trustee of the Unity Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home the Hopewell Chapel, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, VA 23860. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Unity Baptist Church, 4951 Mount Sinai Road Prince George, VA 23875. Interment will follow in Appomattox Cemetery.
