Genevieve Mae Kirby Quada, 81, of Chester, VA passed away early in the morning on Friday, November 11, 2016 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, VA. She was born January 5, 1935 in Batesville, VA to the late Percy Wilbur Kirby and Mary Thelma Wade. She lived for a great portion of her life in Waynesboro, Virginia where she raised her 3 children. She worked most of her life as a seamstress making draperies and slipcovers for many homes in the Waynesboro & Charlottesville area. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all her life and served in many capacities. She served a full time mission in the Southern States Mission in the mid 50's. She was an avid reader, and loved watching Jeopardy and Lawrence Welk. She was preceded in death by her son Frederick C. Quada. She is survived by her brother, Calvin Kirby and his wife, Kitty, Samuel Kirby and his wife, Ruth, and her sister, Shirley Simpson and her husband, William, as well as her 3 children James C. Quada, Jr. and his wife, Angela, her son, Andrew W. Quada and his wife, Dawn, and her daughter, Anna M. Quada de Ochoa and her husband, Omar. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Rachel Quada, Kirby Quada, Michael Quada, Christiana Dennis (Kevin), Samantha Mosqueda (Christopher), Katherine “Katie” Quada, Julie Quada and Sara Quada. She had one great-granddaughter, Margaret “Maggie” Dennis whom she delighted to spend time with. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Wild Rose Cemetery in Batesville, Virginia.
